Multicultural Children’s Book Day

Multicultural Children’s Book Day 2023 (1/26/22) is in its 10th year! This non-profit children’s literacy initiative was founded by Valarie Budayr and Mia Wenjen; two diverse book-loving moms who saw a need to shine the spotlight on all of the multicultural books and authors on the market while also working to get those books into the hands of young readers and educators.

Ten years in, MCBD’s mission is to raise awareness of the ongoing need to include kids’ books that celebrate diversity in homes and school bookshelves continues. Read about our Mission & History HERE.

Black boy joy + 🐰Easter + Literacy =😍😍😍 This ador Black boy joy + 🐰Easter + Literacy =😍😍😍

This adorable story is the second book in the new Quentin and Alphie Adventures series. Its based on
the Pinna original podcast series that aims to take preschoolers on alphabet Adventures with Alfie and his babysitter Quentin.

The story cleverly strings together words in alphabetical order without being didactic. It also naturally shares a lesson in winning verses losing without being too "in-your-face".

For a quick, colorful and joyful book this one is a great addition to storytimes or Easter baskets.
