Super Summer Bucket List

SUMMER IS COMING! ...and every parent silently screams "what are we going to do all day?"! A year ago that phrase would have only meant a little more time spent outdoors, splash pad playdates and putting water in the sand table. I taught pre-k for 7 years, I survived the quarantine with little ...

🎈🥳Civil Rights Icon Congressman John Lewis, here's 🎈🥳Civil Rights Icon Congressman John Lewis, here's your birthday present!

❤️WHOSE ALBUM IS THIS? If you've been around here for a while, you know, that Bae @theeugeneiv is a music composer (among other things) and this past spring he composed the music for a hip-hop musical about the early life of young John Lewis. It premiered at Theatrical Outfit in downtown Atlanta and quickly became a sold out success.

📚✊🏾WHOSE JOHN LEWIS AGAIN? : the musical chronicles what influenced Lewis to get involved with civil rights (the death of Emmit Till) even though he was a teen. His involvement with SNCC and some of the key players in that movement, meeting with doctor King, President Kennedy, Diane Nash, and so many others. All things that led to his iconic walk across The Edmund Pettus bridge that became known as Bloody Sunday.

❤️HOW YOU CAN HELP:Just like we rally around and support book authors in this space. I hope you will support my favorite Indie Artist today. Putting out an album is costly in both time and money and requires so much dedication and focus. Proud of this man today!

A 4th grade boy gave Lil' Bit a special Valentine A 4th grade boy gave Lil' Bit a special Valentine on Friday. 🤪 Phew, I'm not ready for all of that but I'm making sure my girls are.

Besides being a listening ear, and having age appropriate conversations about boys and relationships early on I used picture books like these to make sure my girls know how special and amazing they are from their heads to their toes.

They won't need some ashy boy and his dusty candy or stuffed animals to make them feel important and seen.

Happy New Year! From my family to yours.🥂🎉 2025 wa Happy New Year! From my family to yours.🥂🎉 2025 was the year that showed me I could be broken, but I would not break. It was an incredibly rough one, yall, but in the midst of the sorrow, there was joy to be found:
joy in community,
joy in the small things,
joy in travel,
and joy in family.

I am not sure what 2026 will bring. Changes are already on the horizon, but I'm going to continue to find joy in the little things, and I hope you will too!
